2 Bolt Superduty starter on a '97? Mounting upside down?

Today I did the third trial fit of my 1997 PSD in my Dodge Durango, the first fit with the full drivetrain after the body lift. I'm coming up a little short on clearance, particularly around the starter. It got me wondering, do the 2 bolt SD starters fit? They seem to have the same bolt pattern and appear to be a little smaller in size, which I could really use. The most clearance would come from mounting the SD starter upside down, but will it fit? Anyone know? Right now my starter solenoid is touching the frame rail. It looks like I may need to add another inch to the body lift to gain a little clearance for my hydroboost as well.
