i was thinking of doing a straight pipe 4 inch down to either a 5 or 6 inch tip
my fiend has an 01 cummins and says you dont need a Cat on a diesel he still passes emmisons
i was gonna do mbrp stainless steel
how would you fit the down pipe in the tight quarters of the firewall?

some kits come with a 2 piece DP... i believe the MBRP kits are 3" DP for the OBS trucks...

and your friend is wrong... it all depends on what state you live in... some have visual inspections and you would not pass if you didnt have it in.. other states dont care....

go to a UPULL or pick a part wrecking yard. I find all sorts of stuff like that in perfect condition off totalled pickups. cheap too.

You have to beat the pinch weld flat on the firewall where the downpipe goes. If you don't, you will get a really bad rattle, sounds like the turbo is coming apart.

first off get a 2 pc. dp it is a lot easier to put in, you have to crush the friewall next to the tranny to get the dp throught. a 3'' dp and a 4'' sp is good for 400hp, the cat thing im not real sure, and it not really a cat its a nox converter. but you can allways gut it , run your sp and just weld to shell on to pass a visual inspection. post back if you have any ?'s
