EGT Guage Help

I have a Banks EGT Guage that came with my truck. it has two unlabled wires hanging out the back. The other two wires coming out of a yellow jacket run to the sensor behind the turbo. they are attached

what do these black wires need to connect to? power i assume, but they arent labeled, and i think they were attached to a brake controller that used to be there. if thats the case, thats fine as i have a controller ill be hooking up, but what do i need to do with these two wires.

Thanks,
Matt

They should be for back lighting. does the light work? does the guage read EGTs?

the guage does not read EGT's. i assumed this was why... even though the guy who owned it before me said he bumped the guage when he was installing somethign and it stopped working. he thought he pulled a wire loose or something. ideas?

I bet if you turn that where the wires stick out it is a light bulb in which case it doesent matter. the thermo couple dosnt need powe it makes it own milli amps. thermo couple is the EGT probe.
