Glow Plug Relay

Where is the glow plug relay located on an OBS? I wanna check it to see if its bad or if the actual glow plugs are bad. If its the glow plugs, I plan on doing stage 1 injectors when im changing the glow plugs If its the realy, injectors are gunna wait awhile.

It's on top of the engine under that flip up cover that says 7.3L powerstroke, its to the left of the fuel bowl if your looking at the engine.




You can see it in that picture its on the right side of the picture and looks like the starter solenoid.

And i hope you don't mind me using one of your pictures PSD0389, just wanted to show him a picture of where it was.

Hi,this whisky6,what is the difference between a ford starter relay and a
glowplug relay,i was told that there was nitrigon in glowplug relay,also
the price between the is quite large up to $100.00 for glowplug relay.

So my relay is reading 12.3 volts. I guess its safe to assume that the actual glow plugs need replaced. Is there anything else I should consider before tearing into the valve covers?

Yea, you can test the glowplug harness. I'll look for the link.

7.3 glow plug system diagnosis
here ya go. I think I have an extra set of zd-11 glow plugs. I'll have to look to be sure, if you need them. If I have them...$20.00 + shipping.
