Block Heater Location?

I can not find my block heater on my 1997 F-350 CC LB 4x4. Does anyone have any idea where it is located? I would also like to know if there is a possibility it was not equip with one? If so can I buy one and where and can I install it myself?
Thanks In Advance
Kevin

Are you talking about where the plug is located for it or the actual heater?

The plug will be tied up with the left headlight harness, if equipped and hasent ever been used.

Have heard that they all had the heater just some did not come with the plug. Look just over the top of the oil filter and you will see where the plug into the engine is. My 110 plug is on the left side just below the headlight. JJ

Correct me if im wrong but i believe all 94.5-96 had them but in 97' ford made it optional so yours may not have one. Sorry if im wrong but i believe this is true.

This sounds about right from what I have read in the past, and typical ford, the block heater probably cost just as much as a pipe plug so they put the heater in there, but you have to buy the $40 cord to plug into it.
