Egts
What kind of boost are you making? Have you noticed any lack or loss of power recently? Depending on what your boost numbers are, it sounds like you may have a boost leak or something causing a lack of air. Also, what kind of shape is the air filter in?
Keep us posted, and someone will figure it out. |

1) Depends on where the pyrometer probe is mounted...if its in the exhaust manifold you are fine
2) What is your max boost number...I know when jumping on it the EGTs are going to move pretty good, but the boost should be jumping up pretty quick too. |

Pyro
1100 is still safe, but it does seem warm for all stock. Are you positive it does not have a program or a chip? Are you original owner, and if not, how much do you know about the trucks past? Don't remember if I read it above, but is the air cleaner in good shape, clean etc..
Just noticed you don't live to far from me, in fact we are getting a doberman puppy from a gal that lives in lind here in the next couple weeks. Small World.

that is normal for where the probe is mounted. Hey nice to see more people from the pacific northwest. Im in the lynnwood area. My EGTS get around that hot but i also have a small tunner

I see hot egts (1000+) climbing NW hills. I turn off the overdrive, keep rpms up and Egts will come down a couple hundred degrees. With the egt gauge I have changed my driving habits. I don't try and pass everyone I keep my speed at or a little above the limit. Its a truck. From what I do understand, an intercooler will help with the high egts.
