I thought Ambulance PSDs ran twin alternators? I'd be interested if it's a drop in as well, as a single Alt and what the part number is as well.

The 215A alternator is taller. You need longer bolts but the bolt pattern is the same. You will also need a different wire harness to take full advantage of the alternator. And you need a different belt. Take a look in my Pictures at the bottom, I did the swap.

Billy is right on...One other thing I think I recall...Billy help me out, but does it require a little bit of cutting away at the Alt bracket on the truck (on the bottom) for it to fit...I thought I recalled some minor dremel work?

Mine didn't need any, just bolted on. Heard some needed grinding while others didn't.

The harness could be obtained from Ford or Motorcraft. I don't have the part number handy but I could get them this weekend. The box is at my other garage and I'm leaving tonight for a race this weekend. But I'll post the part numbers. Do a search under my name on TDS.

The harness is a new positive cable from the batteries to the alternator down to the starter. The harness is complete with the maxi-fuse and holder. Just as seen in the pictures.
