How do I?
find the gear ratio's in the axles on a 1996 F-350. Ive been looking at one quite a bit and it is in like excellent condition and im really interested in it

If you look on the drivers side door sill there should be a code on it then you look up the code in the manual and it tells you what gears you have

If if runs 2000 rpm's at 55 mph then more than likely it has 4.11's. If it's different then it probably has 3.55's. Or you can crawl under the truck and look at the dif tag.

There should be a tag attached to one of the bolts on the diff cover. Sometimes they are gone if the cover has been removed at some point though. Check the link below it gives you the codes and location of the tag. I assume the codes on the door would be decoded the same.

If its stock your are either going to have 4.10's or 3.55's
If you have limited slip the diff tag will read 4L10 or 3L55 (L being the tip off )

If you have a 5 speed, and run 2k at 65mph then you have 3.54's.
