Finally Broke Down & Bought It

After the longest 8 months of my life...
I have FINALLY purchased my Diamond Eye TB straight pipe...
I almost forgot how sluggish these trucks are with factory DP
Money & time been tight since swapping jobs.. But found what I wanted for $259 shipped... So I went ahead & ordered...
Put a new blade in the Sawzall already...
It's been hovering around mid 20's for temp for the last week or so..
But will have a nice, cozy, heated shop for the install...
I know not the most exciting post... But it's been a long time coming for me..
As one who normally has parts sitting on my doorstep before I even buy my next truck!!

Also... Almost forget to mention...
Flying down the highway the other day.. Almost put my head thru the windshield slamming on the brakes...
I KNEW IT!!!!
Found a Alcoa cap laying right there on the side of the highway!!!
The other thing that had been bugging me.. (missing 1)

Finally got around to replacing the "cap" on the end of the shifter (goes around the tow button)

My DE exhaust has been sitting in my shop for a while now too. It's been cold, and the last one I installed one, I almost blew a head-gasket installing those god-forsaken hangers. I lost a good pair of channel locks when I lobbed them from being unbelievably mad. I'm getting pretty upset just sitting here thinking about those little craps.

/rant.

Good luck!

I'm waiting for a few extra dollars and the nads to cut my unmolested truck, I'm hoping you keep this thread updated with pictures of the cutting?

By the way, have you seen my thread in the "Lost and Found" section?

http://I Lost a hubcap, has anyone seen it?

I envy those that know exactly which modification to make and in the most logical of sequences. But not enough to trade for my meanderings and misfires.

Exhaust went in today...
I fought it last week & I couldn't even get the T-clamp off!!!
Fought it for an hour & decided to just have our Truck Shop do it for me...
I guess they had the same headache I did with the T-clamp...

I showed up about the time fitment was happening...
I have read all over the org about Diamond Eye & how great they are & fit...
NO WAY!!!
This system fit like crap & we cut & mocked & adjusted WAY more than should need be..
We ended up cutting the tail section back by the spare & will put a tip on from there as the way the bends were looked HORRIBLE
I will NEVER buy nor suggest another DE product to anyone...

I have installed Banks & MBRP systems on the OBS trucks before..
Knowing this install always is a big PITA... Having the product fit this bad makes it even worse!!!

BUT... We did get it done, & the performance results are what they are..
Glad this is over & I can start on other mods.. But this was one bad experience
