What's the difference in the 93 and the 94-98 psd engine?

Well first of all 93 the 7.3 Powerstroke had not been introduced to the market yet. That is a 7.3 liter IDI. They have completely different injection systems and the psd has a turbocharger. Otherwise the 94.5-98 (PSD) engines have very subtle differences, like different belt/pulley thickness, but basically the same

if i remember right its a completely different block, only sharing the displacement, engine mounts and bellhousing pattern.

so you Can Not convert a 7.3 idi into a power stroke but i believe banks sells a turbo kit for it.

Pretty sure the factory turbo is an ats unit with out the aftermarket flair when you buy it from them instead of ford doing it

ats was the factory kit, the only parts interchangable between a idi and a powerstroke are the oil caps thats it.
