need some help/ info on obs exhaust system

forgive my newbie obs/7.3 ignorance. im looking for some help planning to buy an obs with 7.3 from out of my current state of ct and bring it here. the truck i looked at looks like they straight piped it? there's a section of pipe that was added in just past the down pipe along the passenger side frame. in order to register in my state i have to go through an emission test where they say they check the system physically and make sure it passes the smog test by lmd or msa. is there a way to run a vin check to see if the truck came with a cat or a sticker someplace that would verify a cat? heres the link to my state diesel emission test, on my old truck an 04 dmax i think they just ran an obd test but they always ran a mirror down the length of exhaust to make sure it was complete but i think they may have also put a sensor in the pipe to check also. they have a live screen of the emission testing bay at the shop i go to and i think theyre required to video the process for security purposes. thanks for any info you guys might have.

Is it an emission test or smoke test? Go to Walker exhaust and look at the diagram, it will show the year and the exhaust schematic, some came with cats, but I think over a certain weight from the factory there was none, just a muffler, we got lucky here in NJ there are no inspection or self inspection on diesels 96 and older.
