Smile 1995 7.3 Motor..Rebuild Questions...

Hi All,

I got a 1995 F350 Turbo powerstroke 7.3l...Its got 264k on it....I am looking to rebuild it cause the motor feels like its lacking/dragging in power in the higher rpm where it almost skips when reved to the high rpm...

Any ideas on what I can do to freshen the motor up and get another 100k out of it...Any information on parts and part numbers are much appreciated....Looking to spend $1500-$2000...

Thanks All!!!

P.S.- Truck is all stock with no power outers of any kind...

what all have you checked on the motor? there are alot of trucks with more miles on them that still run strong. i would try cleaning the fpr screen check the fuel preasure and put a code reader on it to see exactly whats going on before i would rebuild it

to answer ...

I have yet checked anything....the exhaust unfortunately is cut off under the cab rather then going all the way to the bumper....I have my buddy coming over tomorrow to give me a hand diagnosing it....well see how it goes.....I never owned a diesel before but just feels really sluggish and my mpg is terrible, like real bad...

Yeah check for any exhaust leaks. Might be lookin at injectors if they haven't been replaced already. That truck should go another 250k before needing a rebuild.
