fuel additive definately helps! I wasn't a believer till I tried it...absoutely babying my truck I got 19.25 then put in add. and ran the balls off of it and got 20! I used Diesel Kleen in a grey bottle for that tank but they were out so this one I'm using power service which is the same thing except with a non gel additive....I know its the middle of summer but thats all they had

yeah, i just put bought some power service and gonna give that a try over my next few tanks. Gonna also baby it a bit more too and see what that does. I've only had the truck a few weeks and have been having lots of fun with it, showing off for friends and what not. So we'll go a bit more conservative and see what happens!

Filled up last night and it worked out to close to 17 mpg this time... and that was with an hour and a half of sitting in traffic! Some joyriding in there as well, but mostly just more mixed driving, so I guess I can't complain too much. I'll be curious to see what I get this tank with the additive.

I have an manual, so I'm not sure how it compares...

I get about 17 mixed driving in econo mode.
I get 21 empty at 2000 rpm (67ish) on the highway in econo
I get 16 mpg towing 7K on an open trailer at 2000 rpm in econo
I get 12 mpg towing 11K on an enclosed 24' toy hauler at 2000 RPM in econo
I get 10 mpg towing 11K on an enclosed 24' toy hauler at 2200 RPM in tow mode.

I have enough power in econo mode that I rarely have to go into Tow mode. Usually I only go into Tow mode to control EGTs for looooong climbs.
