Door actuator and lock/ unlock controls

I recon my actuator is on its way out, it's doing that bouncing noise when it opens and closes with the fob. I know there is a thread somewhere around here to mod a resistor so going to give it a shot.

My question is when I'm inside the truck, I can't lock and unlock the doors using the buttons. My windows work fine, both passenger side and driver but doors don't operate (driver and passenger side buttons). I have had to at times either reach over and pull the lever or turn the truck off and use the key fob.

Not too sure if this problem is related to the actuator, sounds more electrical to me like fuse or relay?

I want to peel and seal the doors so need to get this problem sorted first.

As usual, any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I would be surprised if that's the problem Terry. It's happening with the controls on both sides so am more inclined to think its related together, like I said, either a relay or a fuse.

Anyone got electrical diagrams for door panel controls?

I can post them from work tomorrow. Going to try now but my phone and pad don't like the site I use for work.

sent from a hand held computer that I don't know how to use.

Thanks Kraker, that's something to keep me going for now. I'm going to rip the passenger door panel off tomorrow and check the supply to the switch. I would be surprised if both switches have stopped working but there is a possibility.

Let me know if you need something different. Those were the easiest ones to post.

So I decided to have a closer look into the door switch problems today. Pulled the housing out of the door and took out the 3 screws from the back to give access to the 3xbuttons (door and windows). I praised the door switch from its connections and notice that the 5 copper prongs on the back were pretty dirty. I first checked the supply which was giving me 12 volts on both circuits so I knew it wasn't the supply. I then cleaned all the prongs with some wire wool then gave the whole thing a good spray with electrical contact cleaner. Reinstalled and hey presto! After a few cycles of the buttons on both doors, all is good and working again. Another bunch of money saved.

I still need to do the actuator repair but at least for now I can operate my doors from inside.

Thanks to all for the advice and hope my bit of a write up helps someone in the future.
