scanner question

Well so far ive spent close to 200 bucks in the last month to get codes pulled in my truck and i think enough is enough. Ive been trying to see what i can get and have some questions. Ive read about the one that you can buy from ITP diesel, the autoenginuity, and it seems to be AWSOME. Now here is where im confused. The total ford package is $350 but the recomened package to do everything for the ford and chevy is $450. what is the real diffrence in it besides you can read chevys. Also this means ive got to roll around with my laptop when i want to use this.

Option b- pick up a superchips that is cheap and just use it for the code reader, I wouldnt have to worry about having my computer with me if i pop a code and need to read it.

Option c- get the edge tunner, but that is the same price as the total ford package. the only thing that would be good about it is the 1/4 mi time, code reader, and i dont have to keep the laptop with me.

anbody have some information they can share with me? also for anyone that ownes or uses the autoenginuity, is it user friendly? Im good with computer but the whole diesel world is very new to me. Thanks for bearing through this long post and hopefully i can get some help.

If you are thinking of the Autoenginuity, you need to get the enhanced ford package to talk to the powerstroke ECM. Default package will not give you engine codes.

hey is the enhanced ford one the Total ford bundel that sells for 350, or do i need the ford/gm one for 450.

AutoEnginuity PC Scan Tool (USB)

thanks for the help this is really the only question i have about it, do i get the ford one for 350 or the ford/gm 450. 100 bucks could go along way right now, and i only need to read ford trucks/powerstrokes.

Just get the ford one, unless you want to save a GM driver on the side of the road

Thats a good price too, I bought mine straight from autoenginuity.com, and it was over $400
