will a IDM from a 99-2003 work in a 96?

the IH version will not work in a Ford and vice versus.

alittle clarification please....IH?

Rob, I'm pretty sure its not the same part #. Your IDM is a 110v, and one from a 99-2002 is 120v. both can be modded to 140v.
