Wheel/Tire Upgrade size question

Hey guys wondering if anyone might know what's the biggest tire I can put on my stock 97 350 4wd without rubbin? Gonna get new rims also and I was thinking about 17s verses the stock 16s. I Know what kind of rims/ tire I want just need to decide what's going to fit and look best. Appreciate any input, thanks.

Discount tire told me that the biggest tire I could put on is 275/70/17 without anything rubbing. 10 wide and 33s seem a ways off from that. Have you done it? Not doubting u but I need to be sure before ordering. Thanks

Kelly Safari's (i think), 375\75\16's work well on my truck, they look good too.

I have a part/project truck that is stock hight that has 315/75/R16. It is essentially a 34.5 by 12.6. What you will need to do to get them in there is space or trim the front bumper. A leveling kit will make them even better, but all you have to do is space the front bumper out enough. I took a sawzaw to the backside of mine to gain extra room. You will see what I'm talking about once you start trying to make room. Some guys take grinders, but that does to much damage to the Crome. The sawzaw is pretty gentle.
