hard shifting

is random hard shifting on a stock 96er with a 4spd auto anything to serious worry about??

i had constant hard shifting in my 97 and it was because the trans. had been overheated, i had it rebuilt and it is like a new truck now

I dunno about randomness, but I know that hard, solid shifts are better for a trans than shifting smoothly into the next gear..

The harder the shift is, the easier it is on clutches
