exhaust ?,s

i know the first time to go is the cat but sould to gut the muffler or leave 2 baffles in it for back psi? or should i just go staight pipe? im going to do a down pipe but im not sure what size?

I took a truck to a muffler shop and they cut off the cat and muffler and welded straight pipes back in for $75, took them about 30 minutes. The same shop did just the muffler for another friend of mine for $40. Both trucks sound really good and not too loud at all. Both were 99-03 models.
