what rpm for towing?
im just confused on the whole rpm towing stuff.so manuals say my truck makes its best tq from 1900-2100,so it seems to me like i should alway tow in those rpms, but then other people say to tow in the higher rpms around 2500 or so cause of egts.wouldnt that make the truck much more less capable of towing because its out of its tq curve?so which scenario will i have more power and better towing, in 5th gear at 2000 rpms which is 70mph for me,or towing in 4th at 2500-2600 rpms around 70mph? also when the books say i can tow 9800lbs,how fast should a be able to tow that weight?

I have found that our trucks pull great at 70 and 2000 rpm and they also get the best mileage at around that speed too. Personally I would leave it in fifth gear to tow in unless you are pulling a hill and are really needing to down shift.
