Shop says i need a BRAKE PUMP.....WTF
I brought my 97 250 in for brake line replacements. They said after doing the lines that the peddle was VERY STIFF. The claim that the cause is a bad brake pump. Iv never heard of this part before. can anyone help me out with this one, i dont want to spend extra $$ if i dont have to with the price of diesel here

From Ford i don't know but i've seen them for $120 - $130 at auto parts stores. Also seen them on E-bay too.

I would check out the brake booster. Which is most likely what they are talking about. A bad brake booster will cause a very hard pedal.

The shop called today and said it was the vacume pump and it fixed it up. thanks for the info guys!
