just remember it's the average. there are things that affect it.
auto vs manual gearing in rearend mods lead foot how much weight you haul 4x4 vs 4x2 i have a 96er Ext cab, LB, 4x4, auto with 4.10 rears with no mods. i get an average of 16. |

Auto vs. stick? 2wd vs 4wd? Are you wanting to know RWHP or ratings at the engine? My 1997 F250 4WD extended cab, long bed, automatic, 3:55'd, running 285's ran right at 16mpg in town and just at 18mpg on the highway. |

I don't have access to the door tag to find the rear end ratio. I guess i just trying to get a feel for the expected HP/TQ when looking a these older trucks. I have driven my brother's 2001 7.3 with, 4.11, chip and aftermarket turbo and an 2003 6.0 which both will throw you back in your seat. I realize its not gonna the same power, just looking at ballpark figures. I'll let ya know the rear gear this week, I'm not a speeder, its an auto, 4x4 and wont be hauling majority of the time, and not sure of mods, dealer is closed now....

1997 F250 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed 3.55s E4OD 265/75-16s with Superchips 1705. Last tank was 19.7 mpg mostly highway, some stop and go. Factory rated at 225/465 for the 97 model. This is typical for this time of year. During the winter I averaged about 18.
