Any Suggestions?
I have had the truck in my sig for less than a week. Yesterday and this morning I went to drive it and had a few problems. The truck had no power, wouldnt shift out of first (automatic), no boost was built, sounded like turbo wasnt even spinning, and when i got on the pedal a little it dumped very thick black smoke. The egt's rose pretty quickly cause i only drove about 1/4 to a 1/2 mile each time and they hit 750-800. The wierd thing is that the 1st time, i left it idleing, popped hood looked to see if anything was blocking air filter and then turned around to head home to look at things in the garage. It was just fine after i turned around, everything back to normal. This morning I parked it back in the garage, it sat for 10 min, i went back out and it started fine, sounded normal again. (i didnt take it out of park) It sounds to me like a turbo problem but i am new to all of this. Any help would be nice cause im 17 and just bought my 1st PSD and dont need to be dumping money into it in the 1st week cause something went bad. Thanks!

How cold is it where you were that morning? There is a exhaust back pressure valve between the turbo and exhaust that closes when it is cold out. It opens as the motor warms.

Thanks dhanna, Yeah it was about 50 degrees out that morning and my dad took the truck this morning for about 30 miles and said everything was fine. I was also a little worried about it cause I havnt even put 30 miles on it. I just got insurance and temperary tags this morning so I will be driving it tonight cause my other truck isnt insured anymore. I will be sure to get some pictures to you soon. They are on the digital camera and i just need to get them on the computer. The only thing I have done is remove the window tint from the windshield and alot of cleaning. The truck looks great as it is.

Try disconnecting the wires going to the EBPV. There is a two wire plug bolted under the inlet of the turbo compressor housing. Just unplug it and the EBPV will not come on.
