Dipstick Flange Repair

Hey guys, I have found the inner o ring from fordparts.com anybody know a part number for the outer gasket between the pan and the nut. Anyone know the cost of ford grey rtv, I might pick up that, although I wont have a day of drying time, any other good sealants? Also part number for the o ring on the dipstick, I think that about covers the repair right?

Not sure on part numbers but no o ring on outside of pan, just the inside, and the kit for it has red locktite with it, o ring for inside the pan was like $7.50 at my local dealer

ya I know about the kit but 50 bucks for something I have to wait to be shipped and something I could spend 15 on instead of fifty. you think the inside o ring is sufficient to get it fixed?

I have under $20 in my fix, got the flange o ring at ford for $7.50, the dipstick o ring (I bout 2 Kause they were not as wide as one removed) $0.75, red loctite $3.67, and galley brush $2.49, I also used some string I had laying around and black permatex once I put it together just in case

ya that's the way i'm seeing it, plans are for tomorrow to git-r-done, I still need to pick up dipstick o rings though

If you unbolt the dip stick and just pull it out the o ring is very small and I got 2 to replace it at o'reilly auto since they didnt have the wide one like removed

So i'm going to bring this back from the dead cause i actually started doing this repair today, oops, but when i pulled the old o ring out its nothing like the new one, pic attached, is the old one just swollen?

Yup. It's just swollen. That's a very typical look for these orings after sitting in oil for many years.

I bought the repair kit from strictly diesel 2 months ago and install was fairly easy and well worth the $300.00 price.
