New obs owner trouble fueling up

I am a new owner of a 97 f250 4x4 5 spd had a 2001 but I fell in love with this truck but everytime I feel up it takes like a gallon then starts spewing from out from under and pump clicks off like full but I know it's not any advice? Also looks to buy obs gauge cluster if anyone has one for sale

Congrats on the new truck. These trucks have trouble filling up. There is a fix but I forgot what thread I saw it in diesel-brad will know. It does require some parts hunting and some fabrication if I remember correctly.

Either your vent is plugged it the sleeve inside the filler neck is kinked if the tank has ever been off for some reason the sleeve can get kinked. There is like a hose inside a hose for the filler. My 94 has had both tanks replaced and fills like a pile 97 fills like a champ I just need to drop the tanks in 94 and straighten things out

The cab and chassis trucks have a larger better vent, use the filler neck off those, although it fills so well my dad drives up on blocks to keep it from pouring back out
