Help with AE and trans codes on my obs

I have a 96 250 with an E4OD, I get the od light flashing periodically, and rough shifting and slipping. I have AE with the Ford enhanced powertrain, when I hook it up no codes show. It is my understanding that the flashing od light stores a code. Do I need to have it hooked up when the light is flashing? Does AE read the trans codes? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

yes, when the OD light flashes it sets and stores a code. you can pull it at anytime. I am not familiar with AE so i cant tell you how to do it, but i assume you can.

I thought that was the case, I guess I need to learn AE a little better. Or what other code readers are out there that would pull trans codes and not break the bank.

Why not contact AE tech support and get the program working right, since you've already spent money on it? It should always at least throw a P1111.

Ok I finally got it to work, I had to change the setting to Non OBD-II, and now it works great, I got the PO500 speed sensor code. At least now I know where to start looking
