transmission filter in cooler line?

I read some warning on my truck that said, if you're going to flush the cooling system make sure to remove and replace the transmission filter. Where is this located and is it important?

In the pan.
Drop pan, clean out pan and magnet, replace filter. Refill with fresh fluid to mark, then only flush if the machine lets the trans pump out old fluid and it only puts the new back in at the same rate it's pumped out. More of a fluid swap than a flush but it's the only right way. I did mine for the first time at 300k miles. Almost at 340k now.

Additionally, if the transmission has been previously replaced by Ford, there may also be an inline filter in one of the cooler lines (so look to see if one has been installed). Cheers!
