Trans Cooler help

I just purchased a Trans cooler. Should i just swap the old one for the bigger one or should you just add it on to the smaller cooler and use both? Is this possible and does it help? Does anybody know of a write-up for this? Thanks Chad

Add it, keep the oem one. Yes it is possible, take the return line from the oem cooler, hook it to the new trans cooler, then with a new piece of hose hook the new trans cooler to the old one.

I have three trans coolers on my truck.

Just make sure you do a flow test when you are all done, as you can restrict flow with to many coolers, you should see 1 quart every 15 sec on the return line.
My opinion is to by one satisfactory cooler instead of 2 or 3 smaller ones, you will get far better results. I did the 6.0 cooler before it was the popular mod to do and I could buy them all day long for $60 shipped. Running just the 6.0 cooler dropped my temps 40 degrees.

I thinking about doing the same thing. My trans hit 180 towing an empty 16' trailer at 70mph for about 10 moles.

If your trans is heating up in converter lock up then you have other problems, like its slipping. then a cooler will not help.
