5 speed swap is fighting me!!

It seems like one thing after another. First the throw out bearing was cracked. Then the driveshaft I ordered was too long. This is the second shaft i've gotten thats the wrong length! I got the trans out the first day. Flywheel and clutch on and the pedals swapped on the second day. Lost a day to having to order a throwout bearing. Going to lose a day or two to have this shaft modified. Doing it all myself in the driveway sucks! Sorry had to vent.....

yeah but the 5 speed is awesome. hope the rest goes smoothly

i ordered a rear shaft from a yard in VA that said it was from a 133" w/b. Its too long for my truck by about 5" I can only assume its from a ECSB. Everything is in except for the rear shaft and I need to put the interior back together. Just frustrating.

Around here its the price thats fighting me. A guy here wanted 1700$ for the tranny, master and slave cylinder, and a used clutch.

Its worth it though. I have driven an obs with the 5 speed and automatic(4.10 gears). There is no comparison is power and drivability. 5 speed wins hands down.

I scored on craigslist big time. I got my trans out of an f-super duty with the driveline mounted e-brake for 100 bucks. I got my cross member pedals and front shaft for 100 bucks and the floor pan for 10 bucks. Its taken me a better part of a year to find everything though.

Finally got it done and drove it today. Cost me 68 bucks to have the driveshaft shortened. Drives awesome and I love it. Fired right up first try.

my brother and I swapped a zf5 into an idi I used to have a few years ago we bought a whole truck for 500 bucks drove it home pulled the motor trans rear axle other random parts and put everything in my auto for the 5 scraped the rest of pickup.

94 F-250 reg cab 4x4 5spd 7.3 stroke. 3inch downpipe, 4 in exhaust. super duty turbo with 1.0 non wastegated exhaust housing ww2 and 360 thrust kit. Intercooler, MB diesel hpop, driven diesel complete efuel, 6637 air filter, kingpin dana 60.

09 F150 Lariat crew cab 5.4L v8

I'm into the whole thing with the new clutch and flywheel master and slave etc for about 500 bucks. Now hopefully i can sell my e4od for 300 or so and i'll be pumped
