Autoenginuity and OBS 7.3
Good Day. I am new to the forum, I have read lots of information here, but this is my first time posting. I purchased a 1996 F-250 in December, and am slowly starting to tinker with it. It needed some work when I got it home, but its in good working order now.
I am looking for people who have used autoenginuity on the OBS trucks with the 7.3
I am curious to see what other people running autoenginuity are seeing for readings from the engine. I am most interested in Exhaust Back Pressure and MAP pressure.
I am wondering that since the MAP sensor is tied to the output of the turbo, and it is also where a boost guage is hooked up, is it a fair assumption to say that the MAP sensor is reading boost pressure? If it is, is it accurate? or is it compensating for air pressure as well?
The other reason I am curious about Exhaust back pressure is that I just cleaned out the Exhaust back pressure sensor and the pipe feeding it. It was packed with soot pretty much the whole length, and it made a huge difference in how the engine runs.
I am running autoenginuity with the Live Data screen up, and I have exhaust back pressure and the map sensor sitting side by side, and I notice that they are relatively similar in readings, which they should be since the intake and exhaust are basically tied together via the turbo.
If I am way out too lunch on my thinking, please let me know.
Thanks for reading my post
