Wires going to Manual Transmission
1995 7.3 Manual Transmission has a plug on the upper left driver side with two wires going to it. Wire colors are faded but one looks like a black wire and the second looks like a brown wire with orange stripes. Can someone tell me what they plug into? Also I need to replace the plug on the wiring harness, any idea where I can get a new one?

see if you can trace the wires back into the harness, it could be the reverse light switch, which is purple/orange and black/pink. Try dumping the tranny in reverse with the key on and see if the lights come on, if they don't try touching the wires together to get them to come on.

You're right! Thanks!
The truck was in the shop last week where I had the front and rear oil seals replaced. It seems that when they put the transmission back in they didn't plug in the harness. I drove about 60 miles before I noticed the wires hanging from underneath. The plug had been slapping around on the pavement and is ruined. |
