new turbo plus some more..... need help

At 194'000 miles my faithfull old psd finally let me down. My mechanic says the turbo fins came apart. So i'm not going to buy a stock turbo. I have been leaning towards a d66, is anyone running one of these on a 97? is there a better tubo? also since it's apart i was thinking of changing the intake manifolds and putting on an intercooler. I will not buy anything from banks, but don't know where else to look. PLEASE HELP!!!

Beans can get ya the manifolds and just look on E-bay and find ya a factory IC from a SD. You will have to fab up the tubes and mounts, but it will be a lot cheaper than buying the banks stuff. Look around on here for the parts as well, some of the other members may have an IC that they are wanting to sell. Post up the pics of the install as ya go. Good luck

I have a D66 in the 1996. It is made from the stock turbo, with the cool side opened up and a bigger fan. It works well with new injectors and a Wildman chip. I would guess the mods nearly doubled the power. There are better turbos, but truck is scary fast for 8,240pounds and better turbos are double the price.

Thanks for the help guys. D66 is on it's way from beans along with the manifolds. still searching for an intercooler, anyone have one for sale?
