(auto tranny)

Looks like I'm gonna cut it half to get it out.

Will the dipstick tube have to be modified for the new one ?

What I did was cut the down pipe while still attached to turbo maybe 3-4" back where it starts to turn, unbolt it at the cat, get a big bar (cheater pipe) twist the stock down pipe so it's flat to the firewall or close, pry against it on the firewall in a few places, get under truck and wiggle it outta there

Btw did not remove a single thing or loosen anything other than the engine lift point back there

Cool ...

Unbolted it from the turbo, then realized I had to bolt back up to firm it up for the cut.

My plan is to mock up slip fit the entire exhaust with stainless Torqtite clamps ... and if I dont need to use truck right away, have the entire exhaust jethot coated.

Really like the finish. Use it alot on customers rides...

Here is the 3" I did on my father-n-laws Z069/LS7 powered '69 Stingray:
