brake lights not working?

my brake light wire melted under the dash??? why?

It got knicked and grounded when power went through it

how do i fix it. its burnt up and goes up to a big thing of wire's

Can you see how far up the harness the wires are melted? All the way or just a section? Best way to fix is to cut out the affected wire and solder in new wires back to the switch.
