Ok after much headache and cursing I got if fished back into place. In case this happens to any one else I had cut out a small portion on the bottom of the truck where it had fallen I could see it in a factory hole just had to widen it. Then I had to fish a piece of 550 cord through the bolt hole all the way to the bottom, then tie off the backplate and pull it from the bottom all the way back up into place. Then try to get it back into its slot on the body. A complete nightmare what started as a 1 hour job turned into about 5. Needless to say the next set I end up doing the hinge will not be coming off.

Thanks for the testimony! It will help others for sure.

If I ever get the urge to replace the hinges, your experience will ring a bell.

I've replaced a couple hinges but have yet to drop them in there, glad you got it figured out bro, be sure to primer/paint the widened area to prevent rust
