Injectors out, time to change glow plugs.
I have my injectors out being built to stage 1's. During my down time I started to check my glow plugs and I found that several of them were not getting any readings with the ohm meter. I have pulled them all out and plan on changing them. The ones in my truck were autolites and they were not very old. I want to replance them with something better. Is there a brand out there that you guys have had good luck with or some that have had bad luck and I should stay away from. I found a set of Motorcraft on ebay for about $50.

how much did u pay for your stage 1 kit, and have u sent them off to be done, or is someone u know doing them? How much overall, because I saw a DIY 160cc kit for $250, and I dont know who to get to build them, or to do it myself.

I guess I should have mentioned that my injectors are on thier way to DZL JIM at Rosewood Diesel Shop for the stage 1 mod. He has the DIY injector kit for $250 or for a little more you can send them to him to be modded. For the difference in price it was well worth my time to have someone who knows about the injectors working on them plus I didn't want to machine the intensifier pistons. Jim sells the machined intensifier pistons for $225 which would work out to be the same price as sending them to him and letting someone with the knowledge work on them. He has been great to work with and has come highly recommended. His site is DIY-Injectors.com

Find my thread I created when the motor craft ZD-11's were being sold for 1 penny each. I bought 11... if I had bought 16 I'd send you a set, shipped on your dime.
Unfortunately I already used 8 and the other 3 I can't tell you where they are. |

FWIW the glow plugs that I just pulled from my truck were installed just over a year ago and less than 4K miles ago by the previous owner at a shop and I already have at least one of them that is testing bad. So in my opinion the Autolite glow plugs would be some to stay away from.
I checked on the deal that Maintain was talking about and Autozone is out. I bought some Motorcraft glow plugs off of Ebay for $55 shipped. This didn't seem like to bad of a deal although it wasn't exactly .01 each. |

10-4 50 bucks isn't that bad for 8 since they retail for around 7-12 bucks depending upon where you go.
