sudden loss of power

i have an 2002 f350 powerstroke with a 195000 km's, just like flipping a light switch the truck lost all power and the engine light is on. running very rough and had noticed that fuel consumption has become very poor. the truck is stock other than a cold air intake. any thoughts?

CPSs are a known weak point on the 7.3s but usually that is a quick kill of the engine. UVCH would cause your situation as they do wear out with all the pulsing and under the Valve Cover things can rub on them. If the PCM sees an issue it can order the IDM to kill one, two, or the whole side of the engines' injectors causing some to massive loss of power. IPR and ICP issues can cause this problem as they might not be supplying the right amount of HP oil (IPR) or is not reporting that it is (ICP) to the PCM.

Couple things:
-is it an auto and if so is the O/D light flashing also
-check the MAP line to make sure it is still connected to the intake
-Pull the connector off the ICP and see if the idling and low speed driving is improved
-pull the codes and post what you find
-try reposting in the Super Duty section if the answers here are not working or if no one else can offer good advice (you accedentally listed this thread in the OBS section. Same engine, different controls)

Have you read the code(s)? If so, what does it say?
