Switching to 7.3 OBS from a 6.4...will I regret it?

I really love my 6.4 but the payments are getting on my nerves. When I think of what I could do with an extra $400 a month it makes me wonder if I need this nice of a truck. The main benefit of a 6.4 seems to the the massive power you can make with tunes, but I don't really plan on doing that. I am not worried about turning my truck into a race car. I just want something reliable and ready to work hard and from what I hear 7.3 fits the bill. I am just worried I will miss my old truck.

All of the features and speed of the 6.4 are nice, but $400 a month nice? I don't think so... Anyone switched to a 7.3 and regretting it?

$400 is cheap for such an upgrade

I kind of agree with ZMANN. I love my 7.3 but if I could have afforded a 6.4 when I was in the market I would have got one!

I think it depends on how often you use the truck. I have a 96 that sees about 5k miles a year. If I was driving my truck every day, I may not be as happy with it as I would a newer truck.

It really depends on the equity you have in your truck. If your upside down on the value vs. what you owe. Then youll be paying almost as much for a lot less truck. I say make the switch to Top Ramen

I had a 08 dodge cummins for awhile sold it cuz I didn't like the payments bought a 97 f350 and a house couldn't be happier now. The new pickup was nice but I don't see the point in spending that much on a pickup anymore.

I had a 2010 f250 that I owned for probably two years and decided to switch careers so I needed something cheaper. I bought a pretty well taken care of 94 crew cab f350 and I couldn't be happier. With a tune, injectors and exhaust on the 7.3 you won't miss the power on a 6.4. I will probably never get rid of the 94 since I like it so much.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

Unless you do some mods to the 7.3 you'll hate life. A stock 7.3 can barely get out of its own way.
And don't expect it to be quiet like your 6.4 either.
