My 3" Diamond Eye DP...

...was installed earlier this month and I finally got the chance to put it to the test.
Pulling a 24 ft Travel Trailer up a 14% grade, about a mile long:

The engine noise is DEFINITELY more noticeable now...especially during and after a hard pull; it will make some real growling sounds! The transmission seems to down-shift easier than before, and it really feels as if there are a few more horses present.
My top speed was about 40 MPH, but I didn't want to push it. I held the RPM's at around 2200 and she chugged along just fine. Engine temp increased briefly during the climb but dropped as soon as we levelled off.
VERY pleased with the results of this mod.

All in all, I think this was THE BEST upgrade I've made so far, and would highly recommend it to anyone sitting on the fence.
The pipe is not that expensive and if you're handy with the tools, you can do it yourself - I didn't.
One thing to think about is that the pipe runs REALLY close to the transmission, so what I did was to wrap some 3" fiberglass pipe insulation where it passes by, and tie-wired it in place.

Glad your enjoying it, down shifting may have helped you a bit up that hill, and I hope you have gauges hauling like that and chugging

I have no gauges, other than those installed at the factory.

With regards to the hill climb...I could have gone faster, but I chose to hold things at 40 MPH/2200 RPM.
This particular hill has a reputation for eating transmissions and overheating engines, because it is so steep. Here is a graph of the highway:
http://www.th.gov.bc.ca/popular-topi...de-profile.pdf

...in 6 miles, you climb over 1500 feet! I don't know how they get 8.5% grade on that...I'm quite sure the sign said 14%.

That's a pretty damn steep hill, and gauges will let you know what temps your running and may help to save that trans in the future
