water pump leak

has been leaking since i bought the truck about a month. looks like permetex coming out from behind the pump. Went to advanced to get a gasket they say it is a o-ring no wonder it is leaking. some whater has been running down in my cps and the truck has a slight lope at idle but after it gets past 1500 rpm it is fine was wandering if you all thought it might have something to do with it. have a spare cps but don't want to change it till i get the water pump gasket fixed. and it acks a little funny when you cold start it in the mornings hard to start unless you hold acelirator pedel to floor and let it run for a second. if you don't it will lope really' bad and usually die till you give it some fuel? sorry guy put this in the wrong place truck is a 99
