I've got a 6.0L and its right there in the open when you crawl under the motor. I tapped the drivers side manifold right where it elbows up to the up-pipe. I've never been under an OBS, but hard to imagine its too much different. I have been under an early '99 to drill and tap and that was plain & simple too. Good luck!

I Know exactly what you mean Rantheman I had the exact same problem, no matter what I tried I couldn't reach it so I ended up just drilling into my downpipe instead. It was 100 times easier and even though it is a little off I normally just add 300 to 400 degrees onto the reading which is what I read to do based on my boost and that is about it. It works fine its just a little off, but honestly thats what I would recommend doing unless someone else comes along with an idea, but I couldnt get my manifold off to do it that way cuase it was too corroded.

You could always try the passanger side. Friends Duramax has one on the passanger side and it works fine.

Gauge Installation - 1994-1997 Power Stroke FAQ

I laid down under the truck with head at the front and feet facing the rear. Got the drill up there then had to move might right hand around the other side of the frame or springs(cant remember) grabbed the drill again, then drilled.

...or maybe it was the 4X4 driveshaft that was in the way... I really cant remember. You just have to get the drill kindof in place then move your drilling hand to the other side of whats in the way do get a good drilling angle.

Hopefully I'm making things easier for you.
