Howdy Folks. Got my 1st diesel today

Glad to have found this place. Have looked around before as I have been in the market for a few months.

Bought a 97 F-250 HD CCSB today!

289xxx on the clock. paid 6500.

I'm please for the most part. Tires are in bad shape and I get the 45 mph and 60 mph shaky shake. New tires asap with a proper balance and alignment should clear that up.

White smoke on start up till warm. I can deal with it.

Leaking seal in rear passenger side wheel. Going to try and find that vent hose tomorrow to check out.

Run strong, reman transmission short time ago. 4X4 working.

Its got its dents. I don't care, its for work. One mean looking aftermarket brush guard on front.

After the new tires and other mechanical needs that may arise, I'll give her a wash.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be here asking questions for sure as it is my first diesel. I can turn a wrench a little. Now that I have my German sedan (which I work on myself) and my new (to me) PSD I am content.

Lost of remarks, feel free to comment on any in particular.

Cheers,

Countryroad

There she is. So, I'm guessing salvage yards are pretty picked through with these.

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for at the salvage yards..
Misc. little BS parts that break, fall apart, or go missing, are plentiful..
(at least up here in PNW)
But body, & drivetrain are harder to come by.. Probably have better luck with CL if you are looking for those parts...

That is a pretty good looking rig!!
Just chime in & everyone here gets back pretty quickly!!
