2008 OBS Dually Build Thread

NOPE the title is not a typo!!!!

Well here we go, I have been talking about this build in the chat section for about 2 months now and finally have enough of the parts to get started so lets do it.

Here are the basics of the build... Convert a 95 cclb drw 2wd to 4wd using 08 SD axles, convert to 4x4 ZF5 from 2wd auto, all the performance goodies, convert interior to 08+ SD, etc etc etc...

A list of parts already acquired...

Truck: 1995 F350 CCLB DRW 2WD, 140k, bone stock...

Axles: 2008 SD D60 & Sterling 10.5, coils, radius arms, buckets, etc. Only 3k on them came with a 3.73 ratio, will be re-geared to 4.11's...

Tearing them down for gear removal...

Gears and Carriers out, ready for the trip to their new home...

Should be a fun and challenging build as it already has a deadline!!!! Thanks to Frank and Garrett!!!

Thanks!!! Will update regularly...

I went with the 10.5 for a couple reasons... Its brand new, the price was right, and I couldnt find an 80 with low miles for under $2k.

Are there any plans for conversions like head and taillight or grill, emblems etc, or mainly the drive train conversion?

Garrett did the same with 6.0 axles.
Garrett is currently running the 3.73 gears out of my axles in his truck. He is sending me his 4.11's as we speak.

No plans for any body mods/comversions. I am an OBS guy so it will remain stock other than some custom cab steps, and bumpers.

Got a few more goodies today...

Dually wheels from an 09 and 4 BFG AT 315.70.17's

Manual PCM for the ZF conversion from Joe, may or not be able to use it. Inspecting after shipping and it looks like there is a bent pin. Not sure if it can be straightened ??

Bent pin...

Will be ordering the locker tommorrow for the rear
