loose clutch pedals

seems as though the clutch pedal and brake pedals in my 97 are somewhat loose on the main shaft, or whatever you call it, is there any way to tighten it up or should i pull it apart and look into it futher as far as worn bushings or whatnot

The bushings in these trucks wear out. I had to replace all of mine.
