Shade tree ,,get it home
So yesterday we had quite a storm,,,plowed 14 hours 2pm-430 am..
![]() Got in my 95 OBS,,100 ft,,tie rod end was beat,,fall off/broke .... By 6 am got it back in to our shop,,only 100ft a way..14" snow though ![]() So it's the tie left tie rod end, outer, connecting to wheel,, ![]() Well I'm beat ,,14 hrs plowing,,, What do I do,,back up to shop,,bring it in with backhoe JD 750 Now here it gets interesting,, Drill out the socket/rod end ,,drop a 3/4 " grade 8 stnls bolt in ,,2 thick steel washers top and bottom,,2 ea 3/4 " nuts ,using silicone/aka gasket sealer..to keep nuts on... Got me home,,14 miles one way, and back,,,,did buy the correct tie rod end,,it's in now. ![]() Adjusted alignment via 3& 9 o'clock measuring inside /outside.... I don't want to try,,but I bet we could run our engines on wesson vegtable oil,,if we had too.. ![]() So what gets me is the bolt showed no signs of wear,,add a poly ball drilled through....
