Engine Oil Temp

I recently installed a 203 degree thermostat and it worked really well in the cooler weather, but now its around 80 degrees outside and my scan tool shows my engine oil temp around 208 to 215 when im driving steady down the road. Is this normal? I thought the oil temp should stay around the water temp, but i dont have a water temp gauge, just the factory gauge. When i am at idle it stays around 190 to 200.

Those temps are completely fine. I am not a fan of the higher degree thermostat, but you have nothing to be worried about there.

My oil temperature often runs in the 220F range when the engine in under load. It stays within 20 degrees or so of the water temperature. I have the standard thermostat because I don't want to run any hotter than this. I live in the hot Gulf Coast region of the US.
