Called Banks about downpipe
So I called Banks today about a price on a downpipe. He asked me how I was going to run the rest of my exhaust and I said it would be straight piped. He said no,you don't want to do that you'll lose power because you need backpressure on turbocharged engines.(remembering what I recently read here about this issue) I said Hmm that's the opposite of what I heard. He said he's seen the dyno results,so he knows so. BTW the dp was approx $300. Do you guys think he knows his stuff? I just want to hear that turbo sing
It surely wouldn't lose that much power would it? |

dang, 300 for a DP that is why an informed PSD owner chooses NOT to use banks...i doubt the back pressure deal, but you will love to straight pipe action.

okay now i know im gonna catch flack but banks prices are high yes get what you pay yea id say so when it comes to certain parts and theyre exhaust systems are one of those things now 300 id have to say thats wrong because i just ordered my 2nd banks exhaust last week and put it on saturday 545 on my door step for a crew cab long bed with the power elbow and its a straight pipe system right from banks you need to call back and ask for jeff barker he's also a member on this site and cuts fellow members killer deals and best of all he knows the powerstroke inside out youll get straight answers no bs and a good deal imo a banks exhaust is one of the best and its a lifetime warranty

ask around for some of the vendors on this site...i got an entire 5 in mbrp exhaust system with a cat and muffler delete pipes for 450
Thats insane to pay 300 for a dp |

you can def get a whole exhaust straight piped for just a lil over the price of just their DP

300? hahahahahahaha dont do it... as far as mufler vrs power they did dyno test on diesel power and their was no difrence in power numbers between straight pipe and mufler. the only difrence is you have a little snappier bottom end with a mufler.

300 for a downpipe, thats way overpriced, buy a hypermax for 130 and put the 170 dollars saved to something else.
