you will need :

1 each - K2A key.
I each - OBD II(b) adapter
1 each - "Domestic software PRIMARY cartridge thru 1998, or 2000, or 2001.
1 each - "Domestic Troubleshooter Cartridge thru 1998"

you could also buy the "Black" cartridges....much more expensive, but covers a whole lot more vehicles, and are programmable by Snap-On. (if they are still doing it)...don't know.

I also suggest you look up the operator's manual on the net here, download it and read it, it will help.

The Domestic Troubleshooter Cartridge should say "With Diesel Insight" on it I believe.....

it's been a LONG time since I used the Red cartridges, because I have the Black ones.....

get on e-bay, and do some reading, you'll figure it out.

here's a link to a set that will work for ya :

Snap on Domestic Cartridge Set 1999 Primary Troubleshooter Diagnostic Software | eBay

here's a link to a set of the Good Black Programmable cartridges, I bought mine 5 years ago and have over $600.00 in them....this is a hellova buy..... :

if you have a troubleshooter thru 2000, AND a Domestic Primary cartridge thru 97 or later, those are all you need.
plug the cable off the MT2500 into the OBD II Adapter, plug the K2-A key in the OBD II adapter also, and plug the OBD II adapter into your OBD II port, and follow the directions on the screen after it lights up

the power cord should have come WITH the scanner ???

there is no separate "power cord", the scanner powers itself off the OBD II when plugged in to the OBD II port on your vehicle.

you seriously need to download that PDF I posted and do some reading....
