No start with chip installed

I had an issue with a no start/random stall when I had my chip installed. I removed the chip, and the problem went away. Reinstalling the chip gives a no start. I have removed the PCM and cleaned the contacts, but even now reinstalling the chip causes a no start. The check engine light comes on when you turn the key to run, the WTS light comes on, and the truck won't start. Any suggestions?

Keep cleaning on the contacts where the chip plugs in use some alcohol it helps.

I hate to take any more off of those contacts. I cleaned them with paint thinner and a scotchbrite pad, as well as electronics cleaner. I also scraped them down a little bit with a razor blade, and I believe I got all the lacquer off.

Bad idea...

sgg93 sounds like there is an issue with the chip itself. You'll need to send it off for a re-burn.

Alright. I've been trying to get in touch with Tony, who wrote my tunes, but that in and of itself can be quite a feat. I may just box it up and send it back to him. Hopefully a re-burn solves my issues.

Cary burns and honors Tony's free reburns. He's easier to get a hold of and shipping is quicker. Use the search above and type in CT Performance.

[EDIT] I see that you are in Texas. Never mind my other post. Maybe just drive over to Tony's shop?

Hard for me to talk on the phone with Morgan's situation, have you sent me an email?

Where you located at?

Just looked at a few of your previous posts regarding your starting/running issues with the cel's and such.

Just so you know, if you have a problem with the charging system, the chip will not function correctly, and you stand a decent chance of eventually toasting the chip with some of the issues your listing. I would highly recommend you remove the chip until you find out what is going on with the charging system.

I totally understand the situation with Morgan, and I very much respect the fact that you're staying in the business and balancing family issues at the same time. I did send an e-mail about a month ago, but it's possible it got lost in the system. My charging issues were back in January, and the chip was functioning great until about March. I'm presently in NC (need to change that profile of mine) going to college, but I will be in Texas in July. The thing that got me was the intermittent stalling before I got a stubborn no-start. I really do like running the truck with tunes, and I need to find out what it's going to take to get it up and running with tunes.

Tony, would it be alright to box it up and ship it to you?

Regards,
Cole
