Trouble. Check engine light comes on sometimes
So I jus got this van recently from a neighbor.
Runs good for the most part but has intermittent issues. Sometimes at idle it will cut out but then usually start right back up... not too frequent within 65 miles it might do it 2-4 times. Sometimes it will not start right back up I have to let it sit for 1 - 4 minutes then it will start. Happened twice today. Cruising on the highway around 70-80 it will "buck" or "hiccup" from time to time and the check engine light will come on and after that it will run fine. Then when I turn it off and turn it back on the check engine light is off. I've heard this could be the CPS (crank position sensor) as i hear they had a recall on them. And this is not that frequent usually when its only been running for 10-25 min. When I got the van I was told it got a bad tank of gas recently. Supposidly they drained the fuel and put fresh in, Changed the oil and oil filter as well as the fuel filter. I thought he told me he flushed the tank but I don't think they did. Also the fuel gage seems to be ****ed up because when the gauge reads jus a hair shy of 1/4 of a tank I think the tank is empty. Could the fuel sending unit be stuck or broke? Any ideas on that? Since ive gotten it I have changed the fuel Filter again which was tonight and only drove it 15 miles or so and had no issues as of yet. Tomorrow I am cleaning the Air filter. There is also debris in the fuel when I use the purge tiny black particles almost like decayed black rubber bits almost dirt like looking.. I hooked up a Diablosport Predator I got for my mustang to read it's trouble codes and it throws the following error codes. - P0113 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 circuit High Input - P1670 Electronic Feedbacj signal Not detected ( Those 2 codes I think were being thrown because I had the airbox out of the car when I checked the codes and unplugged that 1 sensor on the air box there to take it so I could get to my fuel filter) -p1395 glow plug monitor fault (Bank1) -P0344 Camshaft Position Sensor A circuit intermittent (Bank 1 or single sensor) -P0340 Camshaft position Sensor A circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor) So yea any ideas I wanna square this away asap for this is my work vehicle.. Thanks.... |
